Den inre scenen

Psykoanalys och teater

Barbro Sigfridsson (ed.)

Since Freud started his seminars in the early 1900s, psychoanalytic theory has had a dynamic development, and is today an ubiquitous and dynamic field.

Professor Sven Åke Heed, who recently retired from his position as Professor at the Department of Musicology and Performance Studies, Stockholm University, is a representative of this focus and a very important source of inspiration, not least acting as a mentor for graduate students. As a confirmation of this and a celebration to Sven Åke for all the years of duty, a symposium was helt at the department - "The Inner Scene - Psychoanalysis and Theater". The aim was to provide examples of research directions that has emanate from the field of theory and Sven Åke himself, as well as to inspire future scientists. Participants at the symposium were those involved at the department, as well as guest lecturers in various ways related to this research field. This book has its origins in the lectures of the symposium.

But the purpose is not only to manifest and give examples of research that has been inspired by Sven Åke, but also to promote future work. The book can be used in teaching at both undergraduate and graduate level. Hopefully, it will arouse curiosity, inspire new questions, give the impulse to join in the dialogue and furthermost - to inspire further creative and urgent research directions. There is no better way to prove an eminent scientific legacy!
